EyePutt

Privacy

Last updated: October 20, 2026.

EyePutt is built so that your data stays on your iPhone. No account, no ads, no tracking. Here is, item by item, what the app reads, what it keeps and what leaves your iPhone, then what this website does.

The camera

During a series, the app analyzes the images from the back camera live, on your iPhone, to follow your balls and measure where they stop. At the end of the series, it analyzes the last image the camera saw to check the balls at rest, then deletes it immediately. No photo, no video and no technical log is stored: only your balls’ results remain (see “Your sessions, your balls, your duels”).

The microphone and speech recognition

During a drill, and only with earbuds, the app listens to your voice to recognize your commands: “pause”, “resume”, “done”, “yes”, and, in Free putt and Precision, “next” and “start”. Without earbuds, it does not listen.

Recognition happens on your iPhone, offline: the app requires it. No sound is recorded or sent. The recognized text is not kept.

Your sessions, your balls, your duels

Your play history (sessions, measured balls, duels with the first names you enter, league) is saved on your iPhone, for your statistics, your coach and your league. It is included in your iPhone backup if backup is turned on. Apart from the scores sent to Game Center (below), it only leaves your iPhone if you export or share it yourself. It is deleted with the app.

An anonymous identifier

The first time you open the app, it draws a random player identifier. It contains neither your name nor anything that points to you. It is kept in the app’s settings and written into your sessions and balls, to keep them in order. It is never sent, and it is deleted with the app.

Your location

The app asks for your location only for “Near you”, in the greens map: to put the golf courses near you at the top of the list. This sorting happens on your iPhone, with an accuracy of about 330 ft.

Your location is kept in memory while the screen is open. It is not saved, not written to a log and not sent.

You can say no, or remove the permission in iPhone Settings › Apps › EyePutt: everything else works.

Green maps

When you open the map of a green, the app asks the IGN (the French National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information) for the elevations and the aerial photo of a square about 260 ft on a side around the green you picked in the list, not around you. The IGN receives this area and, as with any web page, your connection’s IP address; never your location.

The answers are cached on your iPhone until iOS clears the cache. They are deleted with the app.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app sends it your scores (league points, strokes gained) and your achievements, under your Game Center nickname, for the leaderboards. Apple processes them under its own privacy policy.

To stop anything from being sent, sign out in iPhone Settings › Game Center. What has already been sent is managed with Apple, at privacy.apple.com.

Purchases

Subscriptions go through Apple. EyePutt sees neither your card nor your name: only whether your subscription is active. You manage your subscription with the “Manage subscription” button in the app’s settings, which opens Apple’s page, or in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

Usage measurement

To learn which screens are used, the app sends TelemetryDeck seven usage signals, and no others:

Every signal except the app opening also carries your plan: free or subscriber.

The TelemetryDeck kit adds: a scrambled device identifier, impossible to trace back and unrelated to your player identifier; the iPhone model; the iOS version; language and region; time zone; date and time of sending; screen size, orientation and appearance (light or dark); accessibility settings; the app version and how it was installed (App Store or TestFlight).

Never: your location, your player identifier, a first name, your distances, your scores.

This data is not linked to you and is not used for tracking. It is processed by TelemetryDeck GmbH (Germany), on servers located in the European Union, under its privacy policy: telemetrydeck.com/privacy. Since nothing points to you, it cannot be found under your name.

Delete everything

Delete the app: everything it kept on your iPhone is gone. For an iCloud backup: iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage. For Game Center: iPhone Settings › Game Center.
